Critics mocked former Vice President Kamala Harris after she warned Republicans are “trying to cheat” in the midterms while echoing President Donald Trump’s signature “too big to rig” rallying cry in a new video urging Democrats to turn out in force.

“We are two months away from the midterms. Get out and vote. Let’s get everyone out to vote. They are cheating,” said Harris in a recorded video Thursday posted on X.

“They are trying to cheat, and we have got to turn out in big numbers and be too big to rig. I’ll see you out there,” Harris added.

Trump repeatedly used “too big to rig” during the 2024 campaign, after years of casting doubt on U.S. election integrity following his loss in the 2020 election. Harris is using the same phrase while accusing Republicans of trying to cheat in the 2026 midterms.

“Kamala Harris has never had an original thought in her life,” wrote TPUSA Spokesman Andrew Kolvet.

“47 seconds. 15 jump cuts. She must be high as a kite,” wrote popular account End Wokeness.

“Nice to know she’s still stealing Trump’s ideas,” said conservative commentator Shawn Farash.

“Sounds familiar,” said Turning Point show host Jobob Taeleifi.

In her video, Harris pointed to Monday’s Supreme Court ruling allowing parts of Trump’s mail-voting order to move forward while the legal fight continues. The court did not rule on whether the restrictions themselves are legal.

A federal judge on Thursday again temporarily blocked the Postal Service from enforcing the new mail-ballot requirements, setting up another round of litigation over the policy ahead of November’s midterms.

Harris urged Democrats to turn out in large numbers while arguing that Trump’s mail-voting policies could make it more difficult for some voters to cast ballots.

“By the way, he votes by mail from Mar-A-Lago, but he doesn’t want you to vote by mail. Just this week the U.S. Supreme Court backed up the president’s agenda. He’s trying to make it more difficult for you to vote by mail,” Harris said in the video.

Billionaire David Booth helped pioneer index investing. Here’s his advice for investors.

    August 28, 2026 / 1:02 PM EDT / CBS News

Index investing pioneer David Booth has a simple message for people navigating volatile financial markets: Stay calm and keep investing.

Booth, a billionaire several times over whose Dimensional Fund Advisors manages $1 trillion, expands on that advice in a new book, “Stay Calm: Learn to Embrace Uncertainty in Investing and Life,” scheduled for publication on Sept. 1. Part memoir and part investment guide, the book explains why investors should strive to accept the uncertainty inherent in the market rather than trying to outsmart it.

Index investing pioneer David Booth writes about investment and life strategies in his new book, “Stay Calm,” which will be published Sept. 1, 2026. Dimensional Fund Advisors

Until index investing emerged in the 1970s, Americans largely invested by picking individual stocks — a perpetual risk — or by putting their money in a fund “actively” managed by a portfolio manager, which can carry considerably higher fees than index funds. At the University of Chicago, Booth studied under economist Eugene Fama, a future Nobel laureate whose “efficient market hypothesis” helped pave the way for index investing.

In his book, Booth recounts how University of Chicago academics analyzed annual New York Stock Exchange returns from 1926 through 1960. They found that stocks returned an average of 9% a year, while most active managers failed to match the market, particularly after fees.

“If the experts couldn’t reliably win, it begged a larger question. How should you invest?” Booth writes.

That question helped drive the development of passive investing, an approach designed to provide broad market diversification with low fees and limited trading.

Booth spoke with CBS News about his book and his advice for investors. The interview has been edited for length and clarity.

You’ve spent five decades in finance and could have written this book at any time. Why now?

David Booth: People seem to have more anxiety than normal. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but there’s a lot of stress out there, and a lot of negative attitude about investing. Hopefully, people can feel a bit more optimistic and feel like they’re more likely to have a good investment experience and meet their financial goals over time.

People have more anxiety than they really need to have. They need to figure out how to stay calm and stay invested.

You write about the power of being an outsider when it comes to investing. Can you elaborate?

With respect to investing in public markets, there’s really nothing but great news here. If you look at all the research over the last 60 years, it looks like the pros can’t beat the market. They can’t beat an index. That’s got to be good news.

As an outsider, you can have the same investment experience as an insider. That’s path-breaking, and it works for everybody because everybody can buy a simple market portfolio and invest in the whole market at very low cost, very easily.

Part of the reason for writing the book is for those people out there who still haven’t invested. I’m trying to take away the excuse. Particularly if you’re a young person, you’ve got to start investing and get the magic of compounding working for you.

Data has long shown that actively managed funds tend to lag the market, yet investors still willingly hand their money to portfolio managers. Why?

Largely because, at first flush, it’s so counterintuitive. But you have to ask yourself why stocks do so well over the long haul. Yes, we have a lot of anxiety now. But go back to the Great Depression. Do you think there’s more anxiety now than during the Great Depression? Or during the Great Recession, or the pandemic?

There’s always a lot of anxiety. And if you look over the last 100 years, where we have research-quality data, stocks have returned over 10% a year through all of that. That’s about as good a story as I can come up with.

Why are the returns that high? The simple answer is it’s your reward for taking risk. But why is that reward so great? I think it comes down to human ingenuity. When something bad happens to you, you don’t just sit there and take it. You figure out how to get back on track.

One of the heartbreaks in this business is watching people get stressed out and get out of the market. The market doesn’t give you a do-over. If you sit on the sidelines and you miss that 50% gain, that’s 50% you’re never going to get. If I had another sentence to write about the title, it would be: Stay calm and stay invested.

Your subtitle promises lessons for investing and life. What can investing teach you about how to live?

There’s uncertainty in both. If there were no uncertainty, you probably wouldn’t have been able to progress in life. And in investing, if there were no uncertainty, all investments would have the same return — the riskless rate. So it’s not about eliminating uncertainty. It’s about managing uncertainty.

In a way, people really want to feel safe. Feeling safe is the feeling that, regardless of what happens, I think I’m going to be OK. I can handle it. You want to avoid the catastrophes. If you buy an individual stock, the price can go to zero. The stock market is not going to zero.

In your book, you talk about the promise of innovation. But Bill Gates has forecast that AI could eliminate many jobs, and a lot of younger people fear being replaced by AI and never being able to buy a home. You argue the pessimists are on the wrong track. What would you tell them?

First off, let me be clear. When I say the pessimists are on the wrong track, I’m talking about investing in stocks and bonds.

If you go back to life, I think there are some legitimate concerns. There are a lot of tech people who are a lot smarter than I am about technology and have their opinions, and we don’t know for sure. I don’t think you want to bet your last dollar on your ability to forecast what the effects of AI are going to be.

I see a lot of pessimism — and a lot of it well-earned — about people coming out of school, getting jobs. But I do have this fundamental belief that you can’t talk me out of, which is that people want to make their lives better and the lives of their family better. That’s the priority, and hopefully they’ll figure out ethical ways of doing that. There are ups and downs, but over the long haul, there’s progress.

Millions of Americans in their 50s and 60s haven’t managed to put much money away for retirement. Many also say they expect to work until they die. What would you say to people who feel behind?

We’ll start with the 401(k) participant: Don’t borrow against it. As long as you stayed invested, you’re probably in pretty good shape. It’s the people who didn’t fund it. And I know it’s very difficult when you have a big family and there’s not much after-tax money. I don’t think there’s magic out there. If I had a silver bullet, I’d share it.

So the problem is, how do we get more people making more money so they can invest more? That’s not my department. But if I were king, I’d be working on how we can educate people better and make them better prepared for that crazy world ahead of us.

    2026-08-28T16:21:07.985Z / https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/28/politics/trump-presidential-ranking-maga

The problems with Trump’s ranking of the presidents

    2026-08-28T16:21:07.985Z / https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/28/politics/trump-presidential-ranking-maga

President Donald Trump appears preoccupied with slapping his name on things these days. And on Thursday, that involved slapping it atop a ranking of presidents.

Trump shared an image on social media that declared himself “the greatest” president — better than even George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

It’s not clear where the list came from, but it does not seem as though great care went into assembling it. There are a bunch of problems with it — beyond, of course, putting a president with a mid-30s approval rating at the top. (CNN has reached out to the White House about the list.)

And for a president who has growing problems with his conservative base, his posting of this list could confirm some of their reservations about him.

    Let’s run through the issues.

FDR, Wilson and Jackson as ‘great’

A number of conservatives cried foul at including this trio alongside Washington, Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.

Franklin D. Roosevelt, after all, was the father of the New Deal and oversaw the greatest expansion of the federal government in US history.

Woodrow Wilson might engender even more distaste on the right for presiding over his own expansion of government, including enacting the federal income tax. Conservative columnist George Will has said Wilson “ruined the 20th century.”

Andrew Jackson is one of two presidents Democrats used to name their fundraising dinners after — though they moved away from that in recent years due Jackson’s owning of slaves and treatment of Native Americans.

And Trump seems to want a mulligan on at least one of them. By Friday morning, he posted a different graphic that demoted Wilson from “great.” In the new one, Wilson is listed among five presidents who “broke” America.

For conservatives, this is basically the inverse of ranking Wilson as “great.”

Calvin Coolidge is considered a vastly underappreciated president on the right, and even a conservative icon. He’s lionized for his fierce opposition to the kind of big government progressivism that marked Wilson’s and FDR’s presidencies.

Some even credit “Silent Cal” for the rise of modern conservatism.

    Andrew Johnson as ‘average’

Johnson is often considered among America’s worst presidents, owing in large part to his incompetent handling of Reconstruction after the Civil War. He was also impeached.

The Siena Research Institute Survey of US Presidents, which frequently surveys experts, has ranked Johnson dead last among the presidents for the last 20 years.

It would be interesting to know why Trump might see Johnson as, in fact, not so bad.

It would seem William McKinley has been demoted in Trump’s mind. That’s because the president spent much of 2025 talking about how “great” McKinley was and hailing him as an example of how tariffs can make America great.

Trump even restored McKinley’s name to a mountain in Alaska because he was such “a great president.”

“McKinley was a great president who never got credit,” Trump added in July 2025.

Now he’s among those apparently not giving him credit.

While Ulysses S. Grant’s presidency is not as well-regarded as his time leading the Union to victory in the Civil War — and he certainly wasn’t a natural politician — “failure” seems rather harsh.

GOP Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas in a 2022 op-ed labeled Grant “one of the greatest civil-rights presidents in our nation’s history” and accused liberals of besmirching the reputation of an “American hero.”

“This sloppy and slanderous history thankfully has been reassessed in recent years, for Grant deserves to stand forever alongside Lincoln and Washington as one of America’s indispensable men,” Cotton wrote.

Cotton may not like seeing Trump participate in such treachery.

One of the biggest problems with the graphic is that it doesn’t bother to rank a bunch of presidents.

There’s no Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, John F. Kennedy, Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Truman and neither of the Presidents Bush.

    Why might this be?

Well, the graphic appears substantially similar to one that appeared in Life magazine in 1948.

The only differences are that Trump has been added in a new “greatest” category, Bill Clinton has been added to “average,” and Joe Biden, Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter have been added to “failures.”

So why add these presidents but not other modern ones? It’s a good question! It’d be fascinating to see where Trump would rank George W. Bush, Reagan and Nixon.

Also a good question: Why did Clinton escape the same fate as fellow Democrats Biden, Obama and Carter? Why is he ranked above Coolidge?

Maybe Trump still has a soft spot for Clinton.

Reagan-era official warns ‘red-green alliance’ has shared goal of ‘destroying’ America

Frank Gaffney says the unlikely partners share an ‘immediate shared objective of destroying the United States’

A former Reagan administration national security official is sounding the alarm over what he calls a growing “red-green alliance” between radical Islamists and far-left socialists, warning the unlikely ideological partners are joining forces around a shared anti-American agenda.

Frank Gaffney sat down with Fox News Digital to discuss the growing influence of the Democratic Socialists of America and what he believes are the true intentions and potential threats to U.S. national security.

“One can argue that the Sharia supremacists are pursuing communism with a God, or at least a patina, a veneer of religiosity to it,” Gaffney explained. “Fundamentally, they’re at the hip in totalitarianism. Yes, with different outcomes in mind, but still perfectly willing to make common cause for the immediate shared objective of destroying the United States, which stands in the way of either of their ambitions.”

DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS SEIZE THE MOMENT WITH EXTREME, ANTI-AMERICAN VIEWS THAT BADLY TARNISH THE PARTY

“So that’s where we find ourselves at the moment — with a red-green axis that seeks the destruction of our country and is making that a goal being pursued now in the Democratic Party.”

Gaffney served as assistant secretary of defense for international security policy under former President Ronald Reagan and graduated from Georgetown University with a Master of Arts in international studies from Johns Hopkins University. He founded the Center for Security Policy think tank in Washington, D.C., in 1988 and currently serves as the president of the Institute for the American Future.

The “red-green alliance” describes the political cooperation between far-left movements, represented by the color red, and Islamist movements, represented by green.

ISRAEL, JEWS TARGETED WORLDWIDE AS WELL-FUNDED LEFTIST, ISLAMIST GROUPS JOIN FOR ‘NAKBA 78’ PROTESTS

The Reagan-era official argued that while the far left and Islamists have different ultimate goals, they share a common adversary in the American constitutional system, which he said stands in the way of both movements’ ambitions.

These concepts were recently debated during a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing titled “Hidden in Plain Sight: Confronting the Muslim Brotherhood Network in America” that took place earlier this month.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, questioned Kyle Shideler, director and senior analyst for homeland security and counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy, about whether the Muslim Brotherhood partners with groups such as the Democratic Socialists of America and characterized that relationship as the “Red-Green Alliance.”

FILE – Members of Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba, hold a Palestinian flag and other flags during a protest in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, in Baghdad, Iraq, October 8, 2023.(Reuters/Ahmed Saad)

Shideler agreed with Cruz’s characterization and said he has seen evidence that the “red-green alliance” shares a “revolutionary objective” to squash Americanism, including the Constitution.

“This threat cannot be ignored because it is politically inconvenient,” Cruz posted to X. “A counterterrorism expert testified that the Muslim Brotherhood and the DSA are united by a shared hatred of America — and a revolutionary objective to overthrow the U.S. Constitution.”

AGITATORS UNITED BY CHINESE MONEY, HATE FOR AMERICA TARGET DATA CENTERS, EXPERTS WARN

Gaffney agreed with the sentiment during his interview with Fox News Digital, taking it one step further to say the two movements are “perfectly willing to make common cause” around what he described as an “immediate shared objective of destroying the United States.”

TRUMP ADMIN ACCUSES HAMAS OF BACKING GAZA FLOTILLA, SANCTIONS ACTIVIST AND MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD NETWORKS

“What they have in common is much more important than their differences,” Gaffney explained.

The “red-green alliance” has also been scrutinized by some Muslim critics of radical Islamism.

In May, Fox News Digital spoke with Dalia Ziada, a Muslim scholar who was forced to flee Egypt after criticizing Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. She said that the nexus of radical Islamism with the radical left in the “red-green alliance” threatened the U.S., American politics and Western society.

“For five or seven years now, we have been seeing some kind of a ‘sinful marriage’ between the radical left and radical Islamism, the groups that hate Western liberal democracies and desire to destroy them,” she told Fox News Digital.

A Fox News Digital investigation found roughly 425 organizations spanning communist groups, Muslim advocacy organizations and anti-Israel activist coalitions are part of a coordinated transnational protest network that collectively brings in about $1 billion in annual revenue.

WASHINGTON, Aug 28 (Reuters) – The Trump administration on Friday appealed a court order requiring it to make payments for the $16 billion Hudson Tunnel project after losing its latest ‌bid to halt funding for the New York – New Jersey rail link.

The project aims to build a new commuter rail tunnel connecting Manhattan and New Jersey and repair a century-old tunnel used by more than 200,000 travelers and 425 trains daily.

The funding dispute is the latest clash between the Trump administration and congressional Democrats over one of the nation’s largest infrastructure projects. Trump has said he opposes the tunnel, which received about $15 billion in federal support under former President Joe Biden.

    Advertisement · Scroll to continue

The U.S. Transportation Department on October 1 abruptly stopped releasing grant funds for the project in the wake of a partial government shutdown President Donald Trump blamed on congressional Democrats. A U.S. judge ordered the payments to resume in February.

Trump said in October he had terminated the project, citing its backing by U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer, a New York Democrat, and concerns about ‌potential cost overruns.

The department, which did not immediately comment on Friday, said earlier the freeze was to ensure compliance with rules barring improper use of diversity, equity and inclusion policies in funding.

The tunnel, heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, needs frequent emergency repairs that disrupt travel on the nation’s most widely used passenger rail line.

Construction was briefly halted in February but resumed after the Trump administration released $235 million in funding it had withheld since October.

The Gateway Development Commission, which oversees the project for New York and New Jersey, has separately sued the Transportation Department in the U.S. Court of Claims to ensure the funds are not frozen.

Trump offered in January to unfreeze the funds in return for support from Democrats to rename Washington Dulles Airport and New York’s Penn Station after him, opens new tab, Reuters reported. Democrats criticized the suggestion.

Around $2 billion of the project’s federal funding has been spent so far.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul faces new legal and political challenges over a law restricting local law enforcement cooperation with ICE after her Republican gubernatorial opponent warned it was “written in the blood” of crime victims.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, whose county borders sanctuary New York City, warned more New Yorkers will be hurt by Hochul’s move, pointing to recent cases of people maimed by illegal immigrants.

“I want to be very clear about this law: This law is written in the blood of the victims, past, present and future,” Blakeman said.

“This law is completely misguided and will make our communities less safe,” Blakeman said. “We have a governor and a legislature [wherein] every major criminal justice initiative makes it easier for criminals to prey on our communities.”

Blakeman’s warning came as a coalition of 15 sheriffs representing counties from the shore of Lake Champlain to the Massachusetts line filed a lawsuit challenging the ban on 287(g) ICE agreements.

His campaign referred Fox News Digital to his remarks when asked for additional comment.

In a memo outlining the “Local Cops, Local Crimes Act,” Hochul argued that “current federal immigration efforts have made communities less safe” and that using local officers and assets for federal civil immigration enforcement draws resources away from local public-safety functions.

A Hochul spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Blakeman’s “understanding of New York’s bail and immigration laws is incorrect,” and said the governor’s top priority remains public safety.

“The Local Cops, Local Crimes Act does not tie the hands of our police or stop them from apprehending dangerous criminals, and local law enforcement can and will continue to work with federal authorities on criminal investigations and violent crime just as they always have,” the spokesperson said, adding that the law doesn’t prevent cooperation on “ordinary criminal investigations.”

Hochul recently signaled she’d enlist Attorney General Letitia James to take action against counties that do not comply with the law, while quipping that police should not be converging on churches and schools to help “Stephen Miller reach his quotas.” Miller is a White House aide credited with crafting much of President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.

“We have reviewed this law with the county attorneys and we looked for every possible way not to comply with this law,” Blakeman said in his recent remarks. “However, it was concluded that we would have to abide by the law. I am a law-and-order county executive. I believe in the rule of law, even when it’s a bad law,” he said.

ICE EYES $20M PURCHASE OF ELECTRIC SHOCK GLOVES AS HOCHUL WARNS OF LEGAL CONSEQUENCES

Blakeman said the law makes it harder for police to keep communities safe, pointing to the recent killing of Westchester County resident Sheridan Gorman, which authorities have attributed to an illegal immigrant, while she was attending college in sanctuary Chicago.

Blakeman cited Illinois’ restrictions on state and local participation in federal immigration enforcement as he argued that New York was moving in a similar direction.

Closer to home, Blakeman said an illegal immigrant from Honduras was charged days ago in his county with second-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a 14-year-old.

Rep. Michael Lawler, the Rockland County Republican who has often warred with Hochul, tweeted this latest law shows she is “the worst governor in America” and “doesn’t give a s— about public safety or the rule of law.”

Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin opposed the 287(g) ban before it took effect, calling the agreements “common sense.”

McLaughlin, whose Capital Region county is one of the 15 challenging the law, invited Hochul to follow through:

“We don’t really care what this legislature did, we are not going to let them endanger our citizens,” he told ABC’s Troy affiliate in June. “I dare you to confront me on this, governor. We’re not stopping.”

Late Thursday, Hochul announced a countersuit against Rensselaer County’s sheriff for noncompliance.

Blakeman said he similarly sought a route to noncompliance, pointing to the recent seizure of dozens of illegal handguns and several kilograms of drugs, as well as one of the “largest gang takedowns” in the U.S., which netted 42 gang members in 2025.

Blakeman argued Wednesday that ICE involvement allowed authorities to keep some suspects in custody who otherwise might have been released under New York’s cashless bail and other laws. The law-and-order debate is also playing out elsewhere on the statewide GOP ticket, where former Brooklyn federal prosecutor Saritha Komatireddy, who is vying against James, is in a faceoff over criminal justice policies.

President Trump signed an executive order Friday to begin a process of creating a U.S. Space Academy for the use of the U.S. Space Force, NASA and the civilian space flight industry.

Mr. Trump announced the new academy at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston during an event awarding the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the crew of Artemis II.

“It’s called the U.S. Space Academy,” Mr. Trump said. “That’s a big deal. So you think of West Point, and you think of Annapolis, and you think of the Air Force Academy, and you think of the Coast Guard academies. Great, they’re all great. But we’re going to have now the Space Force. We’re going to have an academy for what the people in this room love the most.”

The president said the academy will “attract, train and graduate the very best of our nation.” He said he agreed to build the academy, but only if it’s top of the line.

The Trump administration hasn’t yet chosen a location for the event, but Mr. Trump said Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is lobbying for Texas.

“I’m going to be choosing a location very shortly,” Mr. Trump said. “I know where some people want it that are in this audience. Some people come down at this one guy over there. He’s lobbying me. Say, ‘Leave me alone, just leave me alone.’ I’m not sure he’s going to get it. I don’t know if he’s going to get it. But everybody wants it because it’s the hot thing. Space is the hot thing.

“Just leave me alone, Ted, please, leave me alone,” he joked.

It’s not clear what kind of access the civilian space flight industry will have to the federal academy.

Washington — Far-right political commentator and deportation advocate Milo Yiannopoulos is currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody facing a final order of removal, according to U.S. officials and agency records.

Yiannopoulos, who is British, was apprehended in the New Orleans area and is being held in a Louisiana ICE holding facility, the U.S. officials said.

Reports indicate Yiannopoulos was in New Orleans ahead of a concert where the artist formerly known as Kanye West was scheduled to perform Friday night. TMZ first reported Yiannopoulos’ status.

CBS News has reached out to the Department of Homeland Security and ICE for additional details and the basis for his apprehension.

Yiannopoulos has done work for the political and corporate ambitions of West, who’s now known as Ye.

Yiannopoulos, a poster of racist rhetoric, has been a supporter of ICE’s immigration enforcement in the past.

“California needs ICE checkpoints at supermarket entrances, gas stations, strip malls, intersections and government buildings, with on the spot deportation for anyone who can’t prove they are in the US legally,” he posted on social media in June 2025.

“Total legal immunity for ICE agents when they’re on duty,” he wrote in September 2025.

“There is one concrete thing we must insist on this administration delivering,” he wrote in June 2025. “It matters a lot more than debts measured in imaginary money. We have got to deport millions and millions of people. Without that, nothing else matters.”

House Dem’s ‘Lake Natalie’ jab at Trump aide sets social media ablaze: ‘Stay classy’

Debbie Dingell’s jab at Trump aide Natalie Harp referenced Trump’s decision to rename Lake Ontario ‘Lake America’

President Donald Trump declares the immediate renaming of Lake Ontario to ‘Lake America’ amid a trade dispute with Canada, drawing criticism from California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

A House Democrat’s jab at one of President Donald Trump’s most loyal aides prompted a firestorm on social media.

Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., is getting heat from the right and praise from the left after she quipped about Trump’s decision to rename Lake Ontario.

“Let’s just call it Lake Natalie so we know you’ll start protecting our Great Lakes,” she wrote on X.

Trump signed an order on Thursday renaming one of the five Great Lakes “Lake America” amid an ongoing trade dispute with Canada.

Dingell’s comment appears to be aimed at Trump aide Natalie Harp, a close confidante of the president, whom Democrats have seized on after she was reportedly one of the small group of people who joined Trump on a separate plane after a potential Iranian plot to take down Air Force One.

The comment has prompted fierce backlash from Trump allies who accuse Democrats of unfairly targeting a White House aide trying to do her job — a sentiment that was on full display online this week.

JON OSSOFF DODGES ON WHY HE INVOKED TRUMP AIDE’S NAME DURING GEORGIA CAMPAIGN RALLY

“You’re being exactly who I said Democrats were all along. You don’t care about protecting women from sexism/misogyny. You just care if they have an R behind their name,” GOP commentator Melik Abdul wrote on X.

Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., speaks to reporters on Capitol Hill in Washington, Dec. 18, 2019.

Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Robert “Buzz” Patterson said, “Wow. Stay classy, Michigan.”

OBAMA STRATEGIST TURNS ON RISING DEM STAR OVER VIRAL TRUMP ATTACK: ‘GRATUITOUS AND UNNECESSARY’

“Ouch! Not so nice to a young woman staffer .. i suspect your target is the President but it is not nice to the young staffer.. why does she deserve this ? …this all started with a snarky comment by a dem senator,” veteran news anchor Greta Van Susteren wrote.

Van Susteren was referencing a comment by Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., that kicked off the frenzy over Harp in the first place. Ossoff said during a rally that Trump would rather “build his ballroom and travel with Natalie” than do the job of president.

CNN, MS NOW HAVE MENTIONED TRUMP AIDE NATALIE HARP HUNDREDS OF TIMES SINCE OSSOFF’S VIRAL JAB

“Is this the new move when a dem wants to pretend they’re relevant?” former Trump spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko wrote on X.

Pundit Rich Baris wrote, “We’re starting to see glimmers of the Ole’ Democrat crazy we all have come to know in the Trump Era.”

But left-wing social media circles cheered Dingell on.
