投资加密货币不利 特朗普媒体集团上季大亏逾3亿新元

美国总统特朗普上任后从股票投资中赚取巨利，但负责经营“真相社媒”的特朗普媒体与科技集团却亏损连连，由于加密货币投资失利，上季亏损扩大至2亿3800万美元（约3亿零480万新元）。

特朗普媒体集团（TMTG）星期一（8月10日）发布最新财报，在截至6月底的第二季净亏2亿3800万美元，远高于去年同期的2000万美元。

TMTG在本财年首季也同样由于加密货币投资的估值大跌而蒙受净亏。

TMTG上月宣布推出“真相媒体”（Truth Social）的付费推送信息服务，让金融机构客户可“最快”获得这个社媒平台首10大最具影响力账户的贴文推送，包括经常影响全球市场走势的特朗普贴文，月费介于6万至10万美元，然而却引起民主党人甚至华尔街人士的反弹。

据集团透露，这项服务已获得超过10名客户订购，主要是高频率交易公司，它们主要依靠瞬息之间的信息差来制定交易策略。

不过，TMTG早前喊停了经营一年的加密货币投资计划，也取消了在真相社媒经营“预测市场”的计划。

Just one of the wild actions and comments on Donald Trump’s manic Monday would rank among the most notorious things another president ever did.

By close of business, Trump had taken strides toward the presidency he’s always wanted: one of unfiltered authority flowing from the presidential Sharpie, shredding traditional institutions and providing a platform for demagoguery.

Often, the round-the-clock cacophony from the White House seems expressly designed to stifle public comprehension of each individual act planned to irrevocably change the country and the world.

This was certainly the case on a day that fulfilled some core goals of the Trump base but also helped to explain the plunging presidential approval ratings that have Republicans looking with dread toward the midterm elections.

It all started when one of the president’s former personal lawyers, now Appeals Court Judge Emil Bove, swore in another of the president’s former personal lawyers, Todd Blanche, as attorney general.

This was peak Trump. Nine years after the president asked James Comey for loyalty — as the fired former FBI chief told it — one of his ultimate loyalists was on Monday installed in a Senate-confirmed position at the pinnacle of US justice.

Blanche was with Trump in some of his darkest moments as he faced multiple criminal and civil charges before winning back the White House. Some Trump subordinates, like former Attorney General Pam Bondi, stumbled when striving to prove their loyalty. But Blanche has already demonstrated fealty — one reason his critics fear him and wonder whether he’ll act a spiritual successor to Trump’s McCarthyite lawyer Roy Cohn.

As Blanche was clapped by staff back into his agency, more of the president’s men gathered by the Resolute Desk. He was about to act on a feeling he’s harbored even longer than his quest to make the DOJ his boutique law firm.

Trump then signed an executive order aimed at reducing the number of childhood vaccines. And he administered a fresh dose of unscientific falsehoods, baselessly claiming vaccines cause autism and that little children had had inoculations the size of soda bottles poured into their bodies. At one point, he suggested that the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine could be “quite lethal” — amid a year when the US has recorded the most measles cases in more than a quarter-century. It was hard not to get flashbacks to his erratic Covid-19 pandemic news conferences.

But America’s most powerful public health official and vaccine skeptic, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., insisted: “This is what gold-standard science means.”

Trump confirmed he’d recently spoken to new Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, but denied a Wall Street Journal report they’d had multiple conversations. The president has left no doubt he wants Warsh to lower interest rates. “If it was up to him, it would be different, but he has a board,” Trump said, raising doubts about the central bank’s independence.

The president also weighed in on the triumph of progressive and democratic socialist candidates in Democratic primaries ahead of the midterm elections: “We have jihadists being elected all over the place.”

The president’s latest inflammatory comment about Muslim candidates appears to herald a viciously negative fall campaign. He didn’t specify who he was talking about, but his remark came a week after Abdul El-Sayed won the Michigan Democratic Senate primary.

When he turned to Iran, the president showed how the once-intricate US foreign policy process has ceded to the wish-casting of the commander in chief who declared a war won after a few days that is now in its sixth month. And he claimed the Strait of Hormuz, an oil exporting choke point effectively controlled by Iran, is “opened now.” The Windward Maritime Intelligence Operations Center said Monday that only seven vessels had crossed the strait in the previous 24 hours. Before the war, the waterway often saw more than 100 ships a day.

Each of these examples show how Trump has degraded the institutions of US government and purged them of experts, bureaucrats and officials who don’t share his idiosyncratic worldview.

Many Trump supporters argue that he’s making good on his vow to dismantle a corrupt administrative state that has long thwarted conservative presidents. Others promote the idea of an all-powerful presidency and subscribe to legal theories that every government agency must bow to the chief executive’s vision.

In some ways, the maelstrom of business across the Oval Office desk Monday mirrors the deeply centralized decision-making process developed for years by the future president at the Trump Organization, where he was the sole source of authority. But Trump’s critics see his hands-on style as the behavior of a wannabe authoritarian and argue his hunch-driven style of leadership is a recipe for disaster.

It’s hard to make a case that Trump’s approach is working for anyone outside his most loyal support base, despite his claim in an interview with Punchbowl News last week that “a lot of people are saying I’m one of the greatest presidents ever.”

In a recent CNN/SSRS poll, only 21% of Americans said Trump’s military action in Iran had helped the US. Many analysts believe he’s led the US into a stalemate against a much weaker nation.

His crusade to dominate the Justice Department is one of the personal fixations — along with his monument-building program — that help explain why a record-high 73% of US adults said in that same CNN survey that he hasn’t paid enough attention to the country’s most important problems.

And according to polling from the health policy nonprofit KFF, an 81% majority of US adults say they are confident that MMR vaccines are safe for children. A small sector of Trump’s base, however, has long bought into the anti-vaccine movement.

Some of the institutionalists who Trump disdains warned on Monday evening that his increasingly unchecked presidency is dangerous.

“It is simply astonishing that this administration would continue to respond to ongoing measles outbreaks and the return of other vaccine-preventable diseases by playing politics with children’s lives,” said Dr. Richard Besser, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and former acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

David Axelrod, who served as a counselor to Barack Obama, told CNN’s Erin Burnett that a president’s words “can send armies marching and markets tumbling.” But they can “also jeopardize people’s health because the president has enormous sway. … It’s really, really dangerous.”

But Trump is beyond listening. Explaining his vaccine policy, he seemed both to encapsulate his attitude to unchecked power and to tempt fate.

“Nothing bad can happen from what we’re doing,” he said. “Nothing bad can happen.”

Trump secretly switched to different plane in Turkey amid Iran missile threat

Shortly before Air Force One took off from Turkey at the end of last month’s NATO summit, President Trump secretly slipped away from the presidential jet and was whisked to another plane with the help of an airport catering truck, according to a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the matter.

The ruse was employed because the U.S. had learned of a threat from Iran and its allied proxies. U.S. intelligence had detected a credible plot to fire a missile at the plane Mr. Trump was on as he left the Turkish capital of Ankara, CBS News reported exclusively.

The president had expressed awareness of the risks posed by the U.S.-Iran war, calling himself Iran’s “number one target” during the NATO summit.

The Washington Post was first to report on the secret plane-switching.

Multiple Trump administration officials expressed frustration Monday night that highly classified tactics and procedures leaked into the public eye, potentially limiting future protective operations for U.S. presidents.

Hours before the move, on July 8, Mr. Trump announced he would leave Ankara in the old Air Force One rather than a newer Qatari-donated jet that he had taken to the NATO summit. The president said he was switching planes “for old time’s sake,” and U.S. forces stationed at a U.K. refueling stop would be able to check out the new plane, but CBS News has reported that the Secret Service advised that he take the older plane for security reasons.

Video footage captured by the press showed the president walking up the stairs of the old Air Force One and disappearing into the plane, with a catering truck visible on the other side of the jet. Several minutes later, the truck pulled away and drove off to another U.S. government plane, which the Post reported was an Air Force C-32A.

Mr. Trump then flew from Ankara to a refueling stop in the United Kingdom on the separate plane while members of the press and the president’s staff traveled the same route on Air Force One — and believed they were on board the same aircraft as the president.

While in Ankara, members of the press were told to keep the window shades in Air Force One’s press cabin closed, reporters said at the time. Asked why the shades needed to be closed, Mr. Trump later told reporters they were “probably on a dangerous flight because of the sleazebags that we have to deal with.”

In the United Kingdom, Mr. Trump switched to the newer Air Force One, which was donated by the government of Qatar last year and retrofitted by the U.S. Air Force to serve as the new presidential plane. Mr. Trump spoke to members of the press while they flew across the Atlantic toward Washington, D.C.

The Trump administration has never publicly disclosed that the press and some members of the president’s staff were flying on a decoy plane.

Last month, the new Air Force One — which debuted in June — was sent off to be “maxed out” with additional upgrades, the president told reporters, after questions arose about the newer plane’s security features.

Asked Monday about the decision to secretly switch planes in Turkey, White House communications director Steven Cheung didn’t respond directly to the question, saying in a statement: “The new Air Force One is a state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the President and his staff. As the President has said recently, there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him, and we use every tool at our disposal to address those threats.”

The Air Force has also called the new presidential plane “safe, secure and equipped with the most advanced technologies necessary to meet the requirements of the presidential mission.”

President Donald Trump secretly boarded a third, smaller U.S. military aircraft using an airport catering truck as cover to depart the NATO summit in Turkey in July while using an older Air Force One jet as a decoy, according to reports.

Citing an official and other material it reviewed, The Washington Post reported that the undercover maneuver took place at Ankara airport amid a credible Iranian threat against the president.

Trump had arrived in the Turkish capital on July 8 aboard a brand-new Boeing 747-8, an aircraft donated by Qatar.

Following U.S. military strikes against Iranian targets earlier in the summer, intelligence officials identified a specific threat from Iran targeting the president’s movements.

To counter the threat, U.S. security officials executed a ruse on the Turkish tarmac, according to the outlet.

Trump walked up the stairs of the legacy blue-and-white Boeing 747 — the older Air Force One — and waved to news cameras before entering the cabin.

Minutes later, Trump and a small team of aides were said to have stepped out of view into an airport catering truck that had been lifted to an exit door on the far side of the plane.

The truck lowered to ground level and drove across the tarmac to a nearby Air Force C-32A, a modified Boeing 757.

Meanwhile, the media and White House staff boarded the older 747, believing Trump was inside.

Reporters were then instructed to close their window shades for takeoff, and the jet took off as a decoy, according to the Washington Post.

The legacy jet initially appeared on radar without a call sign before taking the ‘AF1’ call sign midflight, despite Trump not being aboard, according to flight-tracking data reviewed by the outlet.

Trump then flew in secrecy aboard the smaller C-32A to RAF Mildenhall in England, landing shortly before the decoy jet.

It is unclear how Trump transferred from the C-32A to the legacy Air Force One after landing in the U.K.

At about 10:56 p.m., he appeared before TV cameras and descended the legacy aircraft’s external stairs, according to a media pool report.

Trump boarded the new Qatari-donated Boeing 747-8 for the return flight to Washington at about 11:01 p.m. Staff and reporters also transferred from the legacy aircraft before departing.

Reporters asked the president about why the window shades were ordered down in Turkey. Trump told them: “You’re probably on a dangerous flight because of the sleaze bags that we have to deal with.”

The president added that he faces threats constantly and is “Number One” on Iran’s target list.

When reached by Fox News for comment on the Washington Post’s reporting, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said the new Air Force One is a “state-of-the-art aircraft that has been fitted with high-level security protocols that ensure the safety of the President and his staff.”

He added: “As the President has said recently, there are many enemies of America who have their sights on him, and we use every tool at our disposal to address those threats.”

The U.S. Air Force similarly touted the new Air Force One jet’s safety.

“The aircraft is safe, secure and equipped with the most advanced technologies necessary to meet the requirements of the presidential mission,” the Air Force said in a statement to Fox News. “Those requirements were carefully crafted to prioritize mission over aesthetics, leaving much of the previous head of state interior layout minimally changed. No risk was taken in security, safety or mission communications, but the collective team made trades on some of the less commonly used mission sets that Boeing must deliver to support the next 40 years.”

Fox News also reached out to the U.S. Secret Service for comment.

一名34岁男子突然闯入一个榴梿摊位，从摊贩手上抢走一把榴梿刀，跟着往自己身上多处捅刺。所幸，在这危急时刻一名路人奋不顾身冲上前，从背后紧紧钳住男子双臂，夺走利刃并将其制伏在地，避免了更严重的伤害。

两人僵持20多分钟后，警方及民防人员到场，将两人分别送院治疗。

裕廊东—武吉巴督集选区议员许德财当晚在社媒平台Instagram发文透露，这名见义勇为的公众是56岁的奥斯曼（Osman Sidin）。

许德财说，奥斯曼告诉他，由于担心持刀男子继续自残，以及可能危害现场其他民众，尤其是年幼小孩的安全，他决定采取行动，以避免造成进一步伤害。

深耕外交数十年 詹达斯获颁功绩奖章

他先后出使土耳其与斯里兰卡，促成新加坡同两国的自由贸易协定，并与土耳其达成战略伙伴关系，与斯里兰卡达成避免双重征税协定。詹达斯这名我国前非常驻斯里兰卡最高专员，获颁今年的国庆日功绩奖章。

功绩奖章设立于1962年，是我国的高级荣誉之一，颁授给长期为国服务、能力与功绩卓著、忠于职守的个人表率。

现年87岁的詹达斯（S Chandra Das）通过外交部答复《联合早报》询问时说：“能获得这一荣誉，我感到无比荣幸。我只是在促进新加坡与前苏联、土耳其和斯里兰卡的关系深化方面，尽了一点绵薄之力。”

詹达斯也曾是我国驻前苏联的首名贸易代表（1970至1972年）、非常驻土耳其大使（2006年至2015年），担任非常驻斯里兰卡最高专员则是从2015年至2025年。

除了外交事业，詹达斯从1980年至1991年间，也曾四次当选国会议员，先后代表崇文区和静山集选区。1984年，他与人民行动党其他议员提出在组屋区设立市镇理事会的概念，并率先在宏茂桥新镇参与推动试验计划，对后来的新加坡组屋邻里行政管理影响深远。

詹达斯也是南洋理工大学名誉副校长，还曾出任职总平价超市主席。

这名本地印族社群的杰出人物是新加坡印度人发展协会（SINDA）的联合创办人之一，是这个族群自助团体的终身信托人。

他从2005年至2017年，也是淡米尔文报纸《淡米尔之声》（Tamil Murasu）的主席，任内推出以印度乐器塔布拉鼓命名的免费英文周报“tabla!”，面向不使用淡米尔语的印族社群。

中共广东省委机关报《南方日报》发布朱森林逝世消息时说，“中国共产党的优秀党员，久经考验的忠诚的共产主义战士，广东省委原副书记、省政府原省长、省人大常委会原主任朱森林同志因病医治无效”。

公开资料显示，朱森林1930年10月生，上海川沙人，1948年后在清华大公室综合组长。

朱森林在1970年后任花县、从化县革委会副主任、县委常委，广州市革委会宣传办公室副主任、广州市委宣传部办公室主任。1975年后任广州市越秀区委书记兼革委会主任，武装部第一政委。

他在1981年后任广州市委副秘书长兼办公厅主任，市委常委兼政策研究室主任。1983年后任广州市委副书记兼市委党校校长、广州市经济技术开发区管委会主任。1985年后，任广州市委副书记，代市长、市长。1988年后任广州市委书记、省委常委、广州警备区第一政委。

Democratic Gov. Maura Healey was met with applause and smiles as she signed away Massachusetts’ gestational limits on abortion, making the deep-blue state the 10th to permit the procedure up to birth.

Under the Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act, health care workers will have greater discretion in determining whether to perform an abortion later in pregnancy, without facing legal penalties under the state’s previous restrictions.

Healey said the law is intended to ensure families facing medical complications late in pregnancy can abort their babies in Massachusetts rather than having to travel out of state. Those complications can include maternal health complications and fatal diagnoses.

During the bill signing, Healey pledged to keep abortion safe, legal and accessible in Massachusetts for as long as she remains governor.

The bill is scheduled to take effect in 90 days. Previously, state law generally prohibited abortions after 24 weeks, with limited exceptions.

Massachusetts now joins Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Vermont in removing gestational age limits on abortion, along with the District of Columbia.

Healey said Monday’s signing was intended to “stand with women,” arguing that those who oppose the legislation do not support women’s health.

“The bottom line for people in Massachusetts, if you care about women’s health, if you care about making sure that women are able to access the health care that they need in consultation with their doctors, should be clear,” she said. “I stand with women. My opponents do not.”

Healey also framed the legislation as a “shield” against national efforts under President Donald Trump and Republicans to roll back abortion protections following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser condemned the signing of the “egregious” law in a statement Monday, arguing that late-term abortions can involve dismemberment of the fetus.

“It should shock the conscience that tens of thousands of unborn Americans are barbarically dismembered limb by limb and torn apart every single year,” she said. “Sadly, that number will only increase with Gov. Healey’s approval of the Abortion Up Until Birth Bill. The GOP must abandon the ‘leave it to the states’ position – a stance that permits egregious late-term abortion laws like this one – and advance national protections for unborn children.”

Dannenfelser also argued that the U.S. is among a small number of countries that permit abortion throughout pregnancy.

“Without a minimum national standard, the United States remains 1 of only 8 countries worldwide that allows abortion at any point in pregnancy. We must do all we can to turn the page on America’s ugly chapter of late-term abortion.”

The other countries that allow such procedures include Australia, Canada, China, Guinea-Bissau, Mexico, South Korea and Vietnam, according to SBA.
