stakes are particularly high because modern U.S. warfare is deeply dependent on space-based systems for communications, navigation, intelligence, missile warning and targeting.

Pentagon reveals secret space weapons are already in orbit — but won’t say what they do

    September 15, 2026 4:13pm EDT / Fox News

Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said the Space Force now has ‘on-orbit space control weapons’ but declined to describe them

    By Morgan Phillips Fox News

The U.S. has weapons orbiting Earth that can be used to defend American forces from attacks in space, the Air Force secretary revealed this week in a rare public acknowledgment of capabilities the Pentagon has largely kept secret.

Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said Monday that the Space Force now has “on-orbit space control weapons capable of defending the joint force against hostile adversary action,” but declined to say what the weapons are, how they work or when they were deployed.

The carefully worded disclosure marks a shift in how openly the U.S. military talks about weapons in orbit as China and Russia develop their own capabilities to disrupt, disable or destroy satellites.

“Is there any question in the room, by anybody, about whether or not the Chinese or Russians have been developing these sorts of weapons?” Meink told reporters after his remarks at the Air & Space Forces Association’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Maryland — right outside of Washington, D.C.

“For over a decade, we’ve been talking about the fact, and we have expressed concern, that the Chinese and Russians were developing weapons for space,” he continued. “We need to focus on making sure we can protect ourselves operating in that environment.”

Exactly what the U.S. has put into orbit remains a mystery.

The U.S. has previously discussed placing weapons in space, including plans to deploy space-based interceptors capable of destroying incoming missiles as part of President Donald Trump’s Golden Dome missile defense system.

But Meink’s disclosure goes a step further: The Space Force already has weapons in orbit for “space control,” a mission aimed at protecting U.S. access to space and, if necessary, denying an adversary the ability to use it.

The Pentagon has historically revealed little about the weapons developed for that mission, with publicly known U.S. counter-space capabilities largely based on the ground.

    Troy Meink(Annabelle Gordon/Reuters)

“What the U.S. is going for is a wow factor here,” Clayton Swope, deputy director of the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told Fox News Digital. “Wow. The U.S. has never talked about space weapons like this before.”

“That’s really what is exceptional and newsworthy about this revelation,” Swope said. “The U.S. is saying we’re putting weapons in space to make sure that our adversaries can’t use space, or to make sure that we can continue to use space.”

Meink appeared to make clear that the ambiguity surrounding the weapons is intentional. He told reporters his language was “very well thought out” and declined to say whether the systems are kinetic or non-kinetic. Kinetic weapons physically strike or destroy a target — think bombs, bullets and missile — while non-kinetic systems can disrupt or disable it without blowing it up — like cyber attacks or radio jams.

“There are a lot of factors that roll into how we talk about these things,” Meink said, explaining that publicly revealing a capability can contribute to deterrence while disclosing too much about it can undermine that advantage.

“We’re not going to talk about the specifics of what we’re doing, whether we’ve tested it, not tested it, or anything else,” he said. That leaves a wide range of possibilities.

Fox News Digital did not hear back from the Space Force when reached for details of the weapon.

INSIDE AMERICA’S LASER REVOLUTION AS THE MILITARY NEARS BIG BATTLEFIELD BREAKTHROUGH

Swope said “space control weapons” could encompass everything from kinetic systems capable of firing missiles or projectiles at another satellite to jammers that interfere with satellite communications or lasers designed to temporarily overwhelm imaging sensors.

“We really don’t have enough information to know precisely which one of these types of capabilities we’re talking about,” Swope said. “It’s really anybody’s guess what type of weapon we’re talking about.”

FATAL AIR AMBULANCE CRASH EXPOSES GROWING GPS DANGER FACING US FLIGHTS

But whatever the Pentagon has deployed, putting a weapon in orbit rather than launching it from Earth could offer one potentially significant advantage: speed and surprise.

A weapon launched from Earth toward a satellite could potentially give an adversary warning that an attack was underway. A capability already positioned in orbit could dramatically shorten that window.

“Maybe something measured at dozens of minutes could be compressed into just mere minutes,” Swope said.

“And you wouldn’t have any indication that maybe a jammer was turned on, on the satellite, other than all of a sudden your signal is being interfered with,” he added.

“If you can act fast without your adversary knowing, if you can have surprise, that gives you a strategic or an asymmetric advantage in combat,” Swope said. “And having systems in orbit do just that.”

Even observing the spacecraft itself may offer few clues about what it can do.

“Space is a very transparent place,” Swope said, noting that governments and civilian observers can track where satellites are, how fast they are moving and what orbits they occupy.

“But what you’ll see often is, oh, it’s a satellite,” he said. “It’s a lot of technology with solar panels and antenna on it. And you don’t really know much beyond that.”

A satellite equipped to jam another spacecraft’s signals, for example, might look much like an ordinary communications satellite.

“Any signal can be a jamming signal,” Swope said. “It just depends on if it’s the one you want to receive, or the one that someone’s trying to use to jam you.”

The concept of weapons operating in orbit is not new. Swope pointed to the Soviet Union’s work on co-orbital anti-satellite weapons dating to the 1960s. Russia has continued developing counterspace capabilities, including systems designed to operate in orbit near other satellites.

China has also developed and tested technologies that could threaten spacecraft, including satellite-servicing and debris-removal systems that have legitimate civilian uses but could potentially be repurposed to interfere with another satellite.

Other forms of interference are already widespread.

“When we talk about jamming and spoofing and cyberattacks against space systems, these happen all the time, both from Russia and China and other countries like North Korea and Iran,” Swope said. “There is so much jamming and spoofing happening around the world right now, it’s almost ubiquitous.”

Those attacks can target systems such as GPS and satellite communications without physically destroying a spacecraft.

That distinction could become critical during a conflict. Jamming, spoofing or cyberattacks may remain below the threshold that prompts a major military response, while physically destroying a satellite could represent a significant escalation.

“If you drop a bomb on a satellite ground station or you shoot a missile at a satellite in space, that’s a big difference,” Swope said. “That’s a huge escalation.”

The stakes are particularly high because modern U.S. warfare is deeply dependent on space-based systems for communications, navigation, intelligence, missile warning and targeting.

“Space is an enabler of joint operations,” Swope said. “We can’t do military operations the way that we do them today without satellites, without systems in space.”

China increasingly faces the same dependency, making control of space potentially decisive in a conflict between the two powers.

“Whoever has space and can deny that to their adversary has a huge asymmetric advantage in a conflict,” Swope said.

“China depends on space as well, and their use of space for joint operations looks very much like the United States,” he added. “Both countries, I would go so far as to say, depend on space to conduct military operations on Earth.”

    Summary

The unapproved peptide BPC-157 is being used for a wide range of ailments despite scant human evidence, a new study suggests

    • Use of BPC-157 cannot be tracked through standard electronic health records
    • Analysts estimate BPC-157 and other peptides could become a $2 billion to $3 billion market if legitimized

Sept 15 (Reuters) – An experimental peptide backed by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and marketed online for pain, healing and performance enhancement is being ‌used for a wide range of ailments despite little safety and efficacy evidence from human studies, a new analysis found.

The peptide, BPC-157, has not been approved for use in the United States but has attracted consumers in a gray market, bolstered by social media posts that claim benefits for muscle growth and injury recovery not backed by scientific testing. It is often taken together with a second peptide, TB-500, in a combination popularly known as the “Wolverine stack.”

In July, a panel of U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisers voted to allow pharmacy compounding of BPC-157, encouraged by Kennedy. Previously, the FDA had restricted BPC-157 compounding due to what it said were significant safety risks and insufficient human data.

Analysts have estimated that BPC-157 and other peptides could quickly become a $2 billion to $3 billion market if legitimized.

Real-world use of BPC-157 is hard to track using electronic health records because it lacks a National Drug Code. Instead, data analytics firm nference reviewed more than 15 million medical records and identified 1,039 patients whose doctors had manually documented use of the peptide in written clinical notes.

The analysis sheds more light on the rise of BPC-157, but is still incomplete since the actual scale of its use is unknown, said study leader Venky Soundararajan.

“Most likely, very few doctors are even asking their patients, ‘Are you taking BPC-157?’” he said.

The number of new confirmed users increased 33-fold between 2020 and 2026, the researchers found.

Reasons for use were documented in 644 patients, who took the unapproved compound for conditions ranging from sports injuries and chronic pain to gastrointestinal disorders, the analysis found.

BPC-157 was ‌most often initiated to help manage pain or gastrointestinal symptoms and most commonly obtained from a compounding pharmacy or gray-market peptide vendor.

The proportion of new users who were male increased from 57% in 2020 to 70% in 2026, while the average age decreased from 55 in 2020 to 49 in 2026. Among 972 BPC-157 users with recorded race, 96% were white.

Responses to treatment were only recorded for one-third of the patients in the study. While some doctors’ notes described symptom improvement, the limited data highlighted uncertainty about the peptide’s effects and underscored a lack of data on its safety and effectiveness, according to a report published ahead of peer review, opens new tab.

When patients discontinued BPC-157, it was most often because their doctors advised them to stop. Others cited adverse effects, including neuropsychiatric, dermatologic, and gastrointestinal symptoms.

Dr. Flynn McGuire of the University of Utah, who has researched BPC-157, opens new tab but was not involved in the study, noted that about half of patients with documented use by nference were taking other drugs as well, including testosterone, NSAIDs, TB-500, and corticosteroids, plus interventions such as physical therapy and surgery.

“There was no placebo or untreated comparator, and there was no standardized indication, formulation, dose, route, treatment duration, or outcome assessment,” he said.

Therefore, it’s impossible to know how much of any improvement was attributable to BPC-157 versus natural recovery, other treatments, placebo effects, or selective documentation, McGuire and the paper’s authors emphasized.

The paper “tells us a lot about who is using BPC-157, how they are using it, and what is being reported in practice,” McGuire said. But randomized controlled trials are needed to answer whether BPC-157 actually causes clinically meaningful improvement, he said.

Washington — The House killed a resolution to impeach President Trump on Tuesday amid renewed interest in Democrats’ plans if they retake the majority.

In a 232-147 vote with 47 lawmakers voting present, the House approved a Republican motion to table the resolution that was introduced by Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas, who has spearheaded several unsuccessful attempts to impeach Mr. Trump.

Green’s resolution sought to impeach Mr. Trump over the conduct of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. He cited the killings of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero by federal immigration agents this year.

House Democratic leadership did not whip the vote, but announced in a joint statement on Monday that they would vote “present” on the motion to table Green’s impeachment resolution.

“Impeachment is a sacred constitutional vehicle designed to hold a corrupt executive accountable for abuse of power, breaking the law and violating the public trust. The effort traditionally requires a comprehensive investigative process, the collection and review of thousands of documents, an exacting scrutiny of the facts, the examination of dozens of key witnesses, Congressional hearings, sustained public organizing and the marshaling of the forces of democracy to build a broad national consensus,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark of Massachusetts and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California said in a statement.

“None of that serious work has been done, with the Republican majority focused solely on rubber stamping Donald Trump’s extreme agenda,” they added.

Green, who is set to leave Congress in January after losing a primary for his newly redrawn Houston-area district, has called for Mr. Trump’s impeachment more than a half-dozen times since the president’s first term. He was censured by the House last year for shouting at Mr. Trump during an address to a joint session of Congress.

Jeffries has not ruled out pursuing impeachment against Mr. Trump if Democrats have control of the House for the remaining two years of the president’s second term.

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who is poised to lead the House Judiciary Committee if Democrats are in the majority, told NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier this month that “we will not hesitate” to use the tool if needed and that Mr. Trump has “undoubtedly” committed impeachable offenses.

Aguilar said Tuesday that impeachment is “not anything that is top of the agenda for House Democrats.”

Victims of sexual abuse with NDAs would be able to speak freely under new bill from GOP committee leader

Survivors of sexual abuse would be free to speak about their experiences even if they sign a nondisclosure agreement under a new bill put forward by the House Republican leading the Jeffrey Epstein investigation in Congress.

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said the push to protect survivors’ rights arose in part from incidents involving nondisclosure agreements, or NDAs, during the probe — and vowed that the bill would help protect survivors and hold abusers accountable.

“What we’ve learned during this investigation is there were a lot of rules that prevented victims of sexual abuse from coming forward,” he said on “The Lead.” “One of those would be if you signed a nondisclosure agreement. So we filed legislation to allow survivors of sexual abuse to be able to come forward.”

“We don’t want a piece of paper to prevent any bad person from getting away with any type of crimes,” the Kentucky Republican said.

The bill would make any clause of an NDA void and unenforceable if it would prevent any individual, including victims, from providing information about sexual abuse — and would apply to existing agreements.

It’s not yet clear what fate the bill will face in the House, but there is widespread bipartisan support for accountability measures in response to what investigators have learned during the Epstein probe, though there are very different ideas on how to achieve that aim.

The proposal comes amid a standoff between House investigators and one of the witnesses in the Epstein probe, billionaire investor Leon Black, who refused to appear before the committee on September 3. Instead, he sued the panel to try to block it from obtaining his testimony and NDAs. Black’s attorneys have argued that the NDAs the panel was seeking were too broad, had no connection to Epstein and disregarded the privacy interests of third parties.

The House Oversight Committee moved unanimously Tuesday to hold Black in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over the NDAs and to appear for a deposition. Black denies any wrongdoing or abuse related to Epstein.

“He was issued a lawful subpoena, and he didn’t show. So we have a lot of questions for him,” Comer said Tuesday.

Black is one of many influential and wealthy individuals whose past relationships with Epstein have come under further scrutiny since the Justice Department’s release of millions of Epstein files. In a voluntary closed-door June interview, Black told members of Congress that he did not know the extent of Epstein’s crimes — and that he himself never abused women or had sexual relations with minors.

The new bill would also define grooming in federal law for the first time and establishes a requirement to report grooming of a minor to law enforcement.

The Senate took a major first step to advancing standardized, federal guardrails on college sports as name, image and likeness (NIL) has transformed the landscape of collegiate athletics.

Lawmakers moved the Protect College Sports Act, led by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., onto the next phase, opening up the opportunity for the Senate to advance the bipartisan bill later in the week.

“I think most people acknowledge that the current landscape of college sports is a mess,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said ahead of the vote. “It needs to be addressed.”

SENATE ADVANCES LANDMARK PROTECT COLLEGE SPORTS ACT, IGNORING SEC AND BIG TEN OPPOSITION WITH CLOCK TICKING

At its core, Cruz pitched the legislation as a means to corral the chaos that has unfolded in college athletics since the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) made its landmark decision in 2021 to allow student-athletes to benefit financially while playing collegiate football, basketball and many others.

“Some have asked why should Congress get in the middle of this? The answer is simple: because Congress screwed it up in the first place,” Cruz said during a press conference on Monday.

“It has been the federal antitrust laws applied in litigation after litigation after litigation that have had the effect of tearing down essentially all the rules,” he continued. “So right now it is the Wild West.”

CRUZ AND CANTWELL REFUSE TO BEND TO SEC AND BIG TEN CONCERNS IN REVISED COLLEGE ATHLETICS LEGISLATION

The Protect College Sports Act would broadly add restrictions to the transfer portal for student-athletes, create a uniform eligibility framework of five years, recruiting and tampering guardrails that establish when schools or agents can contact or recruit a student-athlete, a federal standard for NIL rules, and a revenue-sharing cap.

Opponents of the bill, including Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., contended that the Protect College Sports Act would take away bargaining power from student-athletes and create exemptions from antitrust laws for colleges.

“The ‘chaos’ is that (mostly black) athletes now have bargaining power and white coaches and sports industry execs hate it,” Murphy said on X.

KATIE UHLAENDER: ATHLETES RISK PAYING THE PRICE IF PROTECT COLLEGE SPORTS ACT IS PASSED

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., looks on as Congressional Black Caucus Chairperson Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., speaks during a news conference in front of the U.S. Capitol on May 19, 2026, in Washington, D.C.(Getty Images)

And the Congressional Black Caucus, led by Rep. Yvette Clarke, D-N.Y., announced that it would not support the bill, charging in a statement that it would not support the legislation while “Black political representation is under attack across the country,” following the Supreme Court’s decision on the Voting Rights Act earlier this year.

“Several months ago, before the Senate ever reached this moment, the Congressional Black Caucus made clear that Congress should not rush to provide sweeping new federal protections and legal certainty to powerful athletic institutions while those same institutions remained largely silent as Black voting rights and Black political representation came under unprecedented attack,” the group said.

Cantwell acknowledged the pushback, noting that “several are friends and allies.”

“Let me be clear, voting rights are sacred, and I will stand in that fight with anyone,” she said on the Senate floor. “But I cannot agree that the way to wage it is to hold thousands of student-athletes’ scholarships, health protections and future hostages to a Supreme Court decision they did not make.”

Two House Democrats defect again on key vote for Trump agenda

House Democrats are fuming after a pair of centrist members once again defied their party leaders by voting to help advance a key White House priority — the second time in recent weeks.

The frustrations at those two Democrats — in particular, Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, who is seeking reelection in a battleground seat — are so high that they led to a confrontation on the House floor Tuesday evening between the Washington congresswoman and a top party leader, according to a person familiar with the exchange.

Rep. Katherine Clark, the No. 2 House Democrat and party whip, appeared to raise her voice in an intense conversation on the floor with Gluesenkamp Perez shortly after the vote, that person said. (The other Democratic defector, Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, is retiring after his term and has faced less party blowback.)

The vote the two Democrats defected on is known as a rule vote. Typically, members of the minority party stick together to oppose these kind of procedural votes, which the majority party needs to bring bills to the floor.

Democrats are particularly irate given that one of the bills that can now be brought to the floor is a Russian sanctions bill that President Donald Trump himself has championed. The White House has made it such a high priority that some in the administration privately reached out to at least one House Democratic centrist, attempting to convince that member to support the GOP procedural vote in exchange for a community project back home, that member told CNN. That member ultimately opposed the GOP procedural vote.

While some Democrats support the Russia sanctions bill, they said they were not willing to back a GOP rule — and cross party leadership — to get that result.

“I’m proud to represent one of the largest Ukrainian communities in America — people who have lost fathers, mothers, sons and daughters in the fight to defeat fascism,” Gluesenkamp Perez said on X, adding, “My vote today gets us one step closer to enacting these sanctions into law and I look forward to voting tomorrow to cut off the flow of Russian oil money fueling this war.”

The decision by the two Democrats to once again flout their leadership has quickly resurfaced a complicated debate about party discipline within the caucus. Democrats had already been discussing ways to punish members who oppose the party on key procedural votes after the last episode. Now, in the final week of session before the midterms, those conversations are quickly heating up.

Another top Democrat, Rep. Pete Aguilar, later called out the two defectors and said their caucus would discuss potential punishments for the members.

Asked about enforcing party discipline, he said, “We’ll have some conversations as a family, and we’ll go from there.”

And he issued a terse warning to fellow Democrats about the behavior: “That’s not what we should be doing.”

Other photos taken from the base show hollowed-out buildings and barracks whose shells ironically stand next to unaffected cement “T-wall” structures, which were once regarded as critical fortifications against grenade and mortar attacks but proved critically ineffective against an aerial assault.

Similarly grim pictures were captured at Camp Buehring in Kuwait, a major staging area for U.S. Army ground troops, armored vehicles and some aircraft; the post is located in a remote desert region far northwest of Kuwait City.

The Defense Department’s inspector general this week released a fresh report on the war in Iran that revealed “equipment losses” worth up to $3.7 billion — including nearly 60 aircraft. In a first-of-its-kind mandatory report to Congress, the inspector general added that U.S. Central Command reported Iranian strikes at U.S. bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan.

The Pentagon did not respond to a request for comment.

“These are not ‘squirters’ getting through,” the service member added, referencing language used by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after the deadly March 1 attack on Port of Shuaiba in Kuwait that killed six U.S. troops. “We’re not defending these bases. We’re just watching them get destroyed.”

Kash Patel defends removing bestiality as automatic disqualifier for FBI applicants

FBI Director Kash Patel’s decision to remove bestiality as an automatic disqualifier for FBI job applicants drew bipartisan disbelief Tuesday after he said the change was intended to protect trafficking victims coerced into sexual acts with animals.

The FBI previously automatically disqualified people who acknowledged engaging in crimes including prostitution or bestiality, which is sexual activity between a human and an animal. Now applicants won’t automatically be disqualified for those acts.

Patel said in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday that the new rules were put in place because “we did not want to punish victims of bestiality, victims who were trafficked.”

“We did not want to make it an automatic disqualification for the FBI to consider you if you are a victim of these awful heinous acts,” he said.

Senators across party lines immediately zeroed in on what Patel meant by “victims” of bestiality.

“Why would you even get into bestiality?” Republican Sen. John Kennedy asked Patel.

“We are not into bestiality,” Patel responded, before the senator cut him off.

“I know you’re not, but you changed the qualifications and mentioned bestiality,” Kennedy said, pushing for further explanation. Patel noted that some former trafficking victims had been disqualified for a job because they were forced into bestiality.

“But you’re not telling us today that if a human being had sex with an animal, that they can still be an FBI agent,” Kennedy asked.

    “No, Patel said.

Outside of hiring practices, Patel was pressed on the ongoing investigations into the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Goods, the ousting of career FBI employees, and the bureau’s plans to patrol the upcoming midterm elections.

On some of those topics — like the Pretti and Good matters — Patel declined to share information because investigations were ongoing. As for the mass exodus of employees, Patel said that most retired and that those fired had “weaponized” the federal government.

In response to questions on the election, Patel said that the FBI was going to “house our agents and intel analysts in our field offices for election security,” but expressed some skepticism that the bureau is barred from sending agents to the polls.

“Do you pledge that you will not, in any way, interfere in the will of the American people when they go to the polls in November,” Democratic Sen. Peter Welch asked.

Patel said, “I pledge unequivocally that I will not participate in your charade of lies.”

DETROIT, MICHIGAN — Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich., threw her support behind three of the Trump administration’s signature economic policies in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Collaboration between ratepayers and data center developers, public stakes in high-growth industries and loan guarantees for critical mineral extraction are all areas where the Michigan congresswoman says the Trump administration is charting the right course. She also pointed to bolstering American manufacturing and deterring the nation’s adversaries from hostage taking as areas where she believes bipartisan collaboration is possible.

“It’s not just about taxation,” Stevens told Fox News Digital when asked how revenues can be raised to fund healthcare and infrastructure programs. “If federal dollars are used, like what Mr. Elon Musk got from the federal government, so potentially this current administration could be right that ownership stakes should be on the table.”

PROGRESSIVE PRAISE FOR TRUMP AS WARREN BACKS PUSH TO CURB DEFENSE CONTRACTOR CEO PAYOUTS

The Trump administration has increasingly pursued direct equity stakes, alongside grants and loans, to steer capital into industries it considers strategically important, such as semiconductors and critical minerals.

For instance, the administration converted $8.9 billion in federal funding into a 9.9% nonvoting stake in Intel, while the Pentagon took a 15% stake in rare-earth producer MP Materials. Both investments have increased in value since the government took them, although those gains are not realized until the shares are sold.

While Stevens thinks stimulating economic growth is part of the equation for balancing the federal balance sheet, she did say that the “wealthiest of the wealthy” should “absolutely” pay more in taxes.

Stevens rose to national prominence during her primary contest against Abdul El-Sayed, who has since become the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan. She cast herself as a more moderate alternative to El-Sayed, who she accused of unfairly singling out Jewish Americans.

Though the primary feud between the two was intense, Stevens endorsed El-Sayed following a narrow primary defeat and signaled that, while she may agree with President Donald Trump on some things, she still sees his broader agenda as dangerous for America.

“I personally think [Republican nominee] Mike Rogers is going to continue to rubber-stamp Donald Trump’s chaotic agenda,” she said in an interview after endorsing El-Sayed. “People are going to make a personal and private decision. I am not on the ballot in Michigan.”

Likewise, the White House isn’t particularly warm towards Stevens.

“It’s rich that Haley Stevens claims to support President Trump’s proven economic agenda after voting against the President over 80 percent of the time in Congress – including on the Great One Big Beautiful Bill, which is the largest working-class tax cut in history,” White House spokesman Kush Desai told Fox News Digital.

Though Stevens is a loyal Democrat, she says that doesn’t prevent her from working across the aisle, especially on local issues.

For that reason, she threw her support behind the Trump administration’s Ratepayer Protection Pledge, a collaborative framework bringing together utilities, data center developers, cooperatives and state governments to keep energy prices down amidst the massive buildout of AI infrastructure.

“I think collaboration is always a promising first step and path forward,” Stevens told Fox News Digital when asked about the Ratepayer Protection Pledge. “Before I was in Congress, I had also worked on the bipartisan auto-rescue task force in the Obama administration. I was an Obama appointee, but there were also Bush appointees who stayed on, and there frankly were Republicans who were on the task force. And the reason I’m mentioning the auto task force is that we coordinated at the local level. We coordinated large-scale federal resources.”

Later in the interview, Stevens stressed to Fox News Digital that she is “really fired up about critical minerals,” arguing that America makes itself vulnerable to China by failing to increase domestic production. She listed loan guarantees for mining firms, a policy currently being carried out by the Trump administration, as something she supports.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment when reached by Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

Looking forward, Stevens — who has a strong record of bipartisan work — highlighted a few areas she believes are fertile ground for Republicans and Democrats to work together.

“[Rep.] French Hill, who’s a Republican from Arkansas and a great congressman, French Hill and I have passed considerable pieces of legislation to stand up to America’s enemies, to stand up to our detractors, and that continues to be an area where I believe that we will see more bipartisan collaboration,” she told Fox News Digital. “I also feel very strongly and I’m very proud to serve as the bipartisan caucus chair of the manufacturing caucus, our industrial sector, and one of the areas of great success for me in the Congress was, as a midwesterner, working with colleagues on the other side of the aisle to grow our manufacturing economy.”
