报告称，在她奋力反抗踢打双脚期间，另一名男子据称也对其实施了性侵。
警方报告显示，她回忆起其中一名男子曾咒骂“民主党婊子”。
这起性侵事件最初由《凤凰城新时报》报道。该报称，格林-普莱森西亚是一名长途卡车司机，2017年搬到亚利桑那州第8选区，她告诉《凤凰城新时报》，自己次日便告知了丈夫和竞选团队。
她表示，自己在两周后报案。
格林-普莱森西亚的竞选团队在一份声明中称，她站出来发声“是因为她深知许多受害者都在沉默中挣扎，她希望通过讲述自己的经历，让其他人知道他们并不孤单”。
她的对手、共和党众议员艾贝·哈马德表示，他呼吁当局“彻查这些严重指控，包括调取事发时间和地点的所有可能监控录像，以依照法律最大限度地起诉这起罪行”。
警长办公室在一份声明中称，针对该事件的调查正在进行中。

Arizona congressional candidate reports rape while repairing campaign signs

Bernadette Greene-Placentia, a Democrat running for Congress in a suburban Phoenix district, said Wednesday that she was raped in August while repairing a campaign sign at night, eventually filing a police report with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to CBS affiliate KPHO, Greene-Placentia told police she was walking back to her vehicle after fixing a campaign sign in Sun City, a suburb of Phoenix, when she was hit in the head. Greene-Placentia said when she regained consciousness, she was being held down and sexually assaulted by a man, the report said.
Another man then allegedly sexually assaulted her while she fought back by kicking her feet, the report said.
She recalled one of the men saying “Democratic b****,” the police report said.
The assault was first reported to the Phoenix New Times. Greene-Placentia, who the paper said is a long-haul trucker who moved to Arizona’s 8th District in 2017, told the New Times that she told her husband and the campaign the next day.
She said she reported the assault two weeks later.
In a statement, Greene-Placentia’s campaign said she came forward “because she knows many survivors struggle in silence, and she hopes that by speaking about her experience, others will know they are not alone.”
Her opponent, Republican Rep. Abe Hamadeh, said he was calling on authorities to “investigate these serious allegations thoroughly, including finding all possible camera footage of the time and place in order to prosecute the crime to the fullest extent of the law.”
The sheriff’s office said in a statement the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
