Justin Pearson, who gained national prominence after being expelled from the Tennessee House for supporting a gun safety protest, has won the Democratic nomination for a seat in Congress. Pearson believes people want change, saying the Democratic Party hasn’t been loyal to African American voters. He will face a Trump-backed Republican in a newly redrawn district.
